Eid Abu Ali Faraag  Gemea

Surrounded by his family and during Ramadan, Eid Abu Ali passed away in his sleep on May 11, 2020.
He was a loving husband, father of four beautiful children, desert warrior, protector and caretaker of the Muzeina tribe and Bedouin traditions. A pious Muslim and a free thinker. Our guide on the roads of the Bedouin and through the Sinai desert and co-founder of Livethebedouinlife.

Eid Abu Ali comes from a family of desert guides. He felt very responsible for the unequal economic opportunities and rights of the Bedouin tribes in the South of Sinai. He had a important part in resolving conflicts between the various tribes and was deeply involved in the social development of the Bedouin tribes.
He was one of the few Bedouins who spoke fluent English, learned from his many travels with his father. His social openness ensured that he maintained good contacts all over the world. This has enabled him to realize various social projects, from sheet piling to schools.
Eid had always a great pleasure in introducing people to the Bedouin life in the desert.

Eid is a great loss ton his family, his tribe, and to us. His person, his way of living, his knowledge and love for the desert and the Bedouin life, his intelligence, humor and free thinking made him one of the most authentic person we have met.  A little man with the soul of a giant.

Eid felt responsible to maintain the Bedouin traditions and customs, that they could continue their independence and way of life.
We have the honor to find a structure with his children, Halla, Ahmed and Hamed and the team of Eid to continue his working method.
