DISCOVER THE SINAI DESERT WITH LINDA LUGTENBORG BAADDI
For women who want to step away from the busyness of everyday life and long for a week outdoors, living in the rhythm of nature.
Together with a group of women, you will spend six days travelling on foot and with camels through the Sinai Desert. Guided by the Muzeina Tribe, you will live according to the rhythm of nature, with plenty of time to reflect and relax. The Bedouins take care of the camp, the food and every cup of tea, so there is nothing you need to think about.
In the desert, many of the things we take for granted at home simply fall away. Schedules, to-do lists and taking care of others make way for a simple daily rhythm. This creates space to relax, share stories or simply be completely quiet.
We travel and eat together, but there is always space to spend some time on your own, read a book, go for a walk or simply enjoy the silence. There is no programme you have to follow and nothing you need to achieve.
Everyone comes to the desert for their own reason. For some it is the adventure, for others the peace, the simplicity or the experience of living close to nature.
Whatever brings you here, the Sinai touches everyone in a different way. With everyday life at a distance, there is space to experience the journey in your own way.
In the Sinai, nature has not been designed, controlled or shaped. It is exactly as it has always been. Untouched, pure and completely itself.
Everyone arrives in the desert differently. Some feel at home from the very first step. Others need a little more time to let go of the busyness they have left behind.
Some people need someone who brings a sense of lightness. Someone who makes that first connection a little easier, helps conversations flow and gently supports those first steps, until the silence and rhythm of the desert can begin to do their own work.
That is why every desert journey includes a guide who brings something of their own personality and qualities to the experience.
The Muzeina Tribe carries the wisdom and rhythm of the desert. Our guides help people find their own way within it.
What to expect
During this six-day journey, you will travel on foot and with camels through the spectacular Sinai Desert. Every day we follow a new route through an ever-changing landscape, from wide sandy plains and narrow canyons to impressive mountain passes and open valleys.
You will be accompanied by experienced Bedouins and Dutch-speaking guides.
Linda Lugtenborg Baaddi brings a fresh and calm energy to the journey. With her background as an actress, her training in shamanism and breathwork coaching, and her clear intuition, she has a natural ability to connect with people. With attention, clarity and an open attitude, she creates an atmosphere where people can simply be themselves. She gives people space, asks honest questions and has a good sense of what is needed in the moment.
Throughout the journey, Linda will guide several breathing and relaxation sessions. Simple exercises that naturally fit into the rhythm of the desert and invite you to slow down, breathe and unwind.
Debora Hempel is the founder of Live the Bedouin Life. The desert has been her second home for many years. Together with the Muzeina Tribe, she organises journeys that introduce people not only to the extraordinary nature of the Sinai, but also to the simplicity, hospitality and way of life of the Bedouins.
Day programme
Day 1 – Arrival in the desert
Upon arrival in the Sinai, you will be welcomed by the Bedouins and our guides. The camp will already be waiting for you, giving you time to settle in, prepare your sleeping place and join us for dinner beneath the stars. We take our time getting to know one another before spending our first evening together around the campfire.
Days 2 to 6 – Living in the rhythm of the desert
Every morning begins with freshly baked bread, coffee and tea. While the camels are being packed, we prepare to set off for another day of walking.
Each day we follow a new route through the breathtaking Sinai Desert. We walk across wide sandy plains, through narrow canyons, over impressive mountain passes and into open valleys. During the hottest hours of the day, we take time to rest before continuing towards the place where we will spend the night. At different moments throughout the journey, Linda will share simple breathing and relaxation exercises.
In the afternoon, we continue towards our camp for the night. The Bedouins set up camp, prepare dinner and pour the tea. We end the day together around the fire beneath an incredible sky full of stars.
Days 6–7 – To the coast
After our final breakfast in the desert, we travel towards the coast. We arrive at the beach in Nuweiba and enjoy some well-earned time beside the Gulf of Aqaba. Here you can relax, swim, snorkel and look back on a special week in the Sinai.

OUR TRAVEL POLICY
Tourism is the largest industry in the world, with enormous potential for economic growth and employment. Unfortunately, tourism also causes negative effects on nature and local cultures. We strive to find sustainable alternatives to limit the negative effects of tourism and strengthen the positive ones.
Livethebedouinlife attaches great importance to responsible interaction with culture, nature and the environment. We adhere to cultural codes as much as possible and expect the same from our travelers. It is—when applicable—easy to forget that we sometimes travel through very poor areas.
For this journey we recommend flying with Transavia.
FLIGHTS CAN BE BOOKED VIA:
Transavia.com: Flies from Amsterdam Schiphol to Sharm el Sheikh in the period from November until the end of March.
TUI: Flies directly to and from Sharm el Sheikh from Rotterdam Airport for several months per year. From Eindhoven Airport, direct flights to Sharm el Sheikh are also available.
TUI Belgium: From Brussels there are direct flights to Sharm el Sheikh.
Turkish Airlines & Pegasus:
With both airlines you fly via Istanbul; they are the most stable in price and departure.
To make your journey as comfortable and pleasant as possible, we have put together some tips and guidelines for what to bring:
Clothing
Long trousers: Practical and comfortable while riding the camel.
Light clothing for daytime: Think of breathable fabrics that protect you from the sun.
Sweater or vest: For the cooler evenings in the desert.
Warm socks: Especially if your feet get cold easily at night.
Head covering: A scarf, hat or cap is essential to protect yourself from the sun.
Footwear
Some parts of the journey you will guide your camel on foot over the mountains. Therefore, make sure you have:
Sturdy sandals or shoes that are comfortable to walk in.
Comfortable slippers for the moments when you are not walking.
Sleeping gear
We provide sleeping bags, but for extra comfort, warmth and hygiene, please also bring your own sleeping bag.
Care
Sunscreen: Essential to protect your skin from the sun.
Toothbrush and washcloth: For your personal hygiene.
Rich cream or oil: Helps keep your skin hydrated in the dry desert air.
Luggage
Because we travel by camel and the camels will also carry your luggage, it is important to choose a flexible and lightweight bag. Recommended options are:
A backpack.
A sports bag.
A soft suitcase.
