Arrival Friday 02:10 in Sharm el Sheik

Moyat Mileihis

Haduda

Matamir

El Goudra

Friday early morning 02:10 we arrive in Sharm el Sheikh. In two hours we drive straight in to the desert, on arrival in the desert a camp is ready here you can sleep or rest, drink tea and eat something. This is the place you can freshen up and get ready for the start of the journey.

The desert is wide and large. For most of the trip, the only people you see are the people you travel with. This makes it easy to find a place where you can settle in privacy to freshen up and toilet if necessary.
You will receive water and a toilet roll from us. The first time it can be a bit uncomfortable, but you will see that you get used to it very quickly.
It is useful to bring a washcloth and a hand towel.

After breakfast between 9 and 10 am we leave for the beautiful valley
Moyat Mileihis.
Two nights are planned here: Friday and Saturday night.
So there is plenty of room for relaxation on Saturday.

Sunday morning after breakfast we leave for Madjezer. We stop for lunch at Wadi Disco which also houses a beautiful valley that we can walk and climb through after lunch. After lunch we drive on to Madjezer and stay the night there.

Monday morning we leave by foot towards the White canyon, this is a slightly steep climb to the top and then walk between the mountains to the oasis El Goudra, there we have lunch and you can take a bath in the oasis water. After lunch we leave for Jebel Matamir (this is a long day!). We climb over a high ridge to get to the other part of the desert. We drive past Nawamis (we have a short stop there) and then on to Mataamir.
Here we sleep Monday night. The next day, Tuesday, we do a short walk and sleep Tuesday night near Jebel Makharum.

Wednesday night we sleep in the valley of Haduda. Haduda is always a literal highlight of the trip, it is a huge sand hill from which we can run and when we arrive at the bottom we walk after an overnight stay at the foot in this valley of Haduda slowly out of the desert towards the second part of this journey .

Thursday morning after breakfast we leave by jeep to Santa Catharina.
There we will have lunch and rest to prepare to climb at night the “Mountain of Moses” where according to tradition, God gave Moses the Ten Commandments. The hike to the top will start around 2am to start seeing the sunrise from the highest point of Sinai.
At the foot of the mountain is the Katharina Monastery, which was founded between 548 and 565 AD. It is renowned for its architecture and special location in the rugged landscape. The entire area with the mountain and the monastery has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002.
The mountain is fairly easy to climb but remains quite a climb.

Friday October 1. (New Moon)

When you return you can rest a bit and after breakfast we visit the monastery, there is a possibility that the monastery is not accessible to visitors that day, in which case we take it a bit easier and visit the area around the monastery which is accessible is.

After lunch we leave by jeep to Nuweiba, where the camp is located. Here you share a room, you can really shower again, you can swim in the sea, there is a sub board and snorkel gear available. The following evening, 2 October, we close the journey nicely and leave towards Sharm el Sheik towards 22:00 to catch the return flight to Amsterdam in the early morning of 3 October.
