Her Tribe, women’s desert journey.
Join “Her Tribe” on a six-day adventure in the breathtaking Sinai Desert. This unique women’s trip offers the opportunity to experience what it is like to live as a tribe, we travel and sleep in the open air, guided by an authentic Bedouin tribe.
For six days you live in the rhythm of the desert.
Simplicity and Space is what this trip offers you in abundance.
We travel with a maximum of 11 people. Although we travel and eat together, there is always the opportunity to create your own space, read, walk or just be alone. Although there are simple facilities in some places, there is always enough water and space for privacy. During this journey we encounter few or no other people.
Every day starts early with cleaning up your sleeping place and preparing for breakfast. Coffee, tea and freshly baked bread are already waiting for you.
During breakfast, the Bedouin team ensures that the camels are saddled and the jeeps are loaded.
You have a permanent camel during the journey. We travel in silence as much as possible.
After the morning walk and/or camel ride we enjoy an extensive lunch and then there is time for relaxation.
After lunch and a rest break we continue through the desert.
When you arrive at your overnight stay, you can choose where you want to sleep and prepare your bed. The Bedouins can help you make and find a comfortable place to sleep.
The first thing the Bedouins do upon arrival is start a fire. The place where we eat, have tea and where you can always find good company. Here we share our stories, laughs & we dance.
On this trip we have a few check-in moments.
At the start of the trip we check in with the simple question, what are your needs on this trip. For one person it is silence, while another may have a completely different need. In the middle of the journey there is a moment of reflection and we close the last circle on the beach on the last evening.
You will notice that you quickly feel comfortable and at ease. This is facilitated by the way we travel together, through the enormous pure desert, the Bedouins & the animals, the communal campfires and the clear nights full of stars and dreams.
What to expect:
You trek through the impressive desert by camel and on foot for six days, covering between 10 and 15 kilometers every day. You travel under the guidance of experienced Bedouins and two experienced Dutch-speaking guides; Maxine Voght and Debra Hempel.

Our team knows the desert like no other and offers expert guidance and support according to needs.

Our travel policy
Tourism is the largest industry in the world, with enormous potential for economic growth and employment. Unfortunately, tourism also causes negative effects on nature and local cultures. We try to look for sustainable alternatives to limit the negative effects of tourism and enhance the positive effects. Livethebedouinlife attaches great importance to dealing responsibly with culture, nature and the environment. We adhere to cultural codes as much as possible and expect the same from our travelers. It is -if applicable- easy to forget that we sometimes travel through very poor areas.
Flights can be booked via:
Transavia.com: Flies from Amsterdam Schiphol to Sharm el Sheikh in the period from November to the end of March .
TUI: Flies directly from Rotterdam Airport to and from Sharm el Sheikh for a number of months a year. Flights can also be booked directly from Eindhoven Airport to Sharm el Sheikh.
TUI Belgium: From Brussels there are direct flights to Sharm el Sheikh.
Turkish Airlines & Pegasus :
With both airlines you fly via Istanbul, they are the most stable in price and departure.
Because we travel by camel, a pair of long trousers are useful to take with us. A sweater, cardigan for the evenings, and lighter clothing for the day. If you get cold quickly, bring a pair of warm socks. During some parts of the journey you will have to guide your camel over the mountains on foot, so shoes/sturdy sandals/slippers that are comfortable to walk in are essential for this journey.
We have a sleeping bag for everyone, but for extra comfort, warmth and hygiene, you should also bring a sleeping bag or at least a sheet bag.
Don’t forget something for your head, a scarf, hat or cap! It is important to protect yourself well while riding through the desert on your camel and from the sun in general. So don’t forget your sunscreen! A toothbrush, a washcloth and a greasy cream or oil is also nice to have with you in the desert.
Because we travel by camel and it will also carry your luggage, it is best to choose a flexible backpack, sports bag or soft suitcase.
