Father & Son Desert Journey.

October 26 to November 3 we offer a unique Father Son desert trip in the beautiful south of Sinai around Nuweiba.
This tour is especially intended for fathers and sons (14+) who want to share an unforgettable adventure together. Connection, trust, fun and challenge are central to this journey through the endlessly changing landscapes of this fascinating area.

You and your son will travel through the impressive desert for six days. We travel under the guidance of local Bedouins, eat and share stories around the campfire and spend the night under the stars.

What to expect:

Together with your son you will trek through the impressive desert by camel and on foot for six days, covering between 10 and 15 kilometers every day. You travel under the guidance of experienced Bedouins and two experienced Dutch-speaking guides; Jefta Hoed and Daniel Eeuwens.

Jefta, based on his background as a youth coach and Rite of Passage trainer, guides the changing relationship between fathers and sons that takes place during adolescence. His goal is to facilitate a safe space in this adventurous environment where there is room for in-depth conversations, openness, observation, introspection and play. carried by the space, silence and beauty of the desert.

Daniel is, as a Sinai veteran, the silent force we can lean on, as co-founder of Live the Bedouin Life with more than 20 years of knowledge of the desert and its inhabitants, he is the ideal guide to to give you an unforgettable trip.

Our team knows the desert like no other and offers expert guidance and support according to needs.
Through play we will strengthen our bond together and create memories that will last a lifetime.

After breakfast on the sixth day we depart by jeep back to the coast of Nuweiba, where the trip ends at the beautiful Live The Bedouin Life Camp on the Gulf of Aqaba. Here you can relax and enjoy the beautiful view of the sea.

Our travel policy

Tourism is the largest industry in the world, with enormous potential for economic growth and employment. Unfortunately, tourism also causes negative effects on nature and local cultures. We try to look for sustainable alternatives to limit the negative effects of tourism and enhance the positive effects. Livethebedouinlife attaches great importance to dealing responsibly with culture, nature and the environment. We adhere to cultural codes as much as possible and expect the same from our travelers. It is -if applicable- easy to forget that we sometimes travel through very poor areas.

Because we travel by camel, a pair of long trousers are useful to take with us. A sweater, cardigan for the evenings, and lighter clothing for the day. If you get cold quickly, bring a pair of warm socks. During some parts of the journey you will have to guide your camel over the mountains on foot, so shoes/sturdy sandals/slippers that are comfortable to walk in are essential for this journey.

We have a sleeping bag for everyone, but for extra comfort, warmth and hygiene, your elf should also bring a sleeping bag.

Don’t forget something for the head, a scarf, hat or cap! It is important to protect yourself well while riding through the desert on your camel and from the sun in general. So don’t forget your sunscreen! A toothbrush, a washcloth and a greasy cream or oil is also nice to have with you in the desert.

Because we travel by camel and it will also carry your luggage, it is best to choose a flexible backpack, sports bag or soft suitcase.
